Beauty trends in 2018: What the Future has in store

We all know that beauty trends and looks change at the speed of light, and already there’s plenty on the forecast for 2018, it’s set to be a game changing year for all things beauty and skincare related, and I’m so excited to be able to get a picture of all the exciting things to come.

Forget the T-Zone, it’s all about the Y-Zone

What’s the Y-Zone you might ask? Well it’s the skin on the jaw, chin and neck, the skin that suffers due to our modern-day tech obsessions, from being scrunched up while we look at our phones and computers.

YSL have already latched onto this trend for the future and recognised that our beauty and skincare needs change with the times.

It’s called FOREVER YOUTH LIBERATOR Y-SHAPE CONCENTRATE and YSL claims that is is:

The first firming concentrate by Yves Saint Laurent, containing the Glycanactif Y™ complex, to act on the look of the Y-Shape (face, neck, décolleté) through a firming effect. Visible results: in just 7 days, skin feels suppler and looks more luminous.

The Bare Minimum

I know, I know, so many products out there claiming so many wonderful things it can be tempting to grab whatever catches your eye. My mum is one of those skincare addicts whose beauty routine involves washing, cleansing, toning, exfoliating, moisturising and applying a tonne of different serums. Careful and thorough skincare is part of her morning ritual as well as part of her nighttime routine. I am the total opposite, although good old mum has forbidden me from relying on makeup wipes to get rid of a full day’s slap, my routine is as parred down as possible which is just what a lazy girl like me needs. I wash and moisturise in the morning and use a 2-in-1 cleanser and toner before bed. Simples.

It seems that multi-function, smart products will become far more commonplace in the future as we slim-line our beauty collections. Here are some of the best products out there to keep you ahead of the game.

The antidote to heavily made up Instabeauty the influx of American beauty brands like Glossier could bring with it a natural beauty revival. With products like Boy Brow from Glossier, we won’t have to give up our tastes for strong healthy brows, or indeed glowing skin and glossy lips. While not everyone will want to grab the natural beauty bull with both horns, I feel like the bare-faced beauty trend will appear to many, there’s a lot to be said for a good quality clear mascara, defined brows, healthy blended blush and a flush of colour on the lips, it’s something I can get onboard with for Summer 2018. The perfect holiday look.
