It’s almost the end of summer, and as the seasons change lots of us take the opportunity to revamp our wardrobes and stock up on essentials for the colder months ahead. This autumn I’m taking inspiration from the Max Mara Fall 2015 runway, and the Lana Del Rey Vogue Australia spread. The look is ultra-feminine, with 1950s and 60s silhouettes, pencil skirts and dresses, thick and fine knits, satin and velvet touches in neutral colours. The look is glamorous and retro but you can make it modern with deconstructed hair, messy braids and smoky eyes in bronze or silver, personalise it further with statement scarves and jewellery.
To get started with this look, here is a round-up of 15 simple items that can form the basis of the wardrobe. Blouses, jumpers and pencil skirts are the foundation of this look and in neutral colours like camel and white, it’s the perfect opportunity to let your accessories take centre stage, scroll down for the accessories guide.
